Looking for a therapist can be a bit daunting. It's not always easy to know whether therapy will help, what to expect in a session or even if we want to open up to someone we've never met.
There are many different reasons to seek counselling - bereavement and loss, relationship or workplace difficulties, anxiety and depression, traumatic events or something from the past that needs talking through. Sometimes it's just a sense that things aren't quite right and you need a place to explore your thoughts and feelings in order to make sense of things and move forward.
Therapy can help you to work through issues, both past and present. It can give you a place where you can focus on the things that are affecting you. You can process difficult thoughts and feelings and gain greater understanding about yourself and your circumstances.
